I finally did it!!! I rode my bike from my house to work, about 6 miles, and then home again, so 12 miles roundtrip. The first day I was really nervous, mainly because I've hardly ridden my bike for years, so I knew it would be hard. What I didn't know is how really great it would feel in so many different ways.
On day two, when I pulled up to my company on my bike, my thought was, I finally know what I want to be when I grow up~ someone who rides their bike to work!
The first week was Earth Day week and I rode Wednesday and on Friday which was Earth Day. Most luxurious part is that George, my husband, rides most of the way with me in the mornings and I believe that is the key for me, his support. That's the best.
Osprey and Red Tail Hawk are 2 of the birds we saw the first day. On the ride home I met Emily and rode with her along the river. She commutes to the U of O rain or shine, her ride is almost 2 miles shorter than mine. She had fancy rain gear and gloves and sunglasses. I was a bit lost, meandering around the streets of Eugene
